SMALL BEST FRIENDS

Charlie s a 7 month old designer dog. You know, those dogs we used to
there are two breeds mixed together, like a cocker spaniel and a poodle,
it's a cockapoo, or a Labrador and a poodle - it's a Labradoodle. Well,
Charlie is a Chiranian, a Chihuahua and a Pomeranian. She weighs 14
pounds and it is 14 pounds of pure sass, or piss and vinegar as my
Bigmama used to say. Like all Chihuahua's, she is full of energy, but
unlike most, she does not think you are a tree made for climbing and she
is not a yapper. She barks when there is a need but does not have the
habitual, incessant barking known in the breed. Although she is a
jumper, she can clear 3 feet going straight up, she will not jump on work
on the computer, watch TV, sew, knit, work on your car, as long as you are
in her visual range, she is quiet, content and happy. Charlie gets along
well with everyone, cats, dogs, people, and is afraid of absolutely nothing.
Like most little dogs, Charlie is size confused. She thinks she weighs 80
pounds and does not hesitate to throw her 14 pounds around like it is 80.
She probably would not do well with a large aggressive alpha female --
Charlie may very well challenge the alpha for top dog spot and tragically
lose in more ways than one. She loves to be a "lap dog" but is not
persistent about it. If you sit her off to the side and tell her to stay, she is
just as content to be near you as she would be on you.

Charlie was an owner surrender. An older lady who had
recently lost her husband was going to live with her
daughter and her daughter would not allow her to bring
Charlie with her. Charlie was in an over crowded shelter,
when I took her in. They should have gassed the daughter
and let Charlie and her elderly "Mom" come live with me. I
named her Charlie because she is one tough little angel.

stay together, but they are not dependent upon one another. They are no trouble whatsoever, both are
very quite, although Wee does bark when she needs to rise to the occasion. I do not think that Little ever
received the nutrition she needed as a pup because she has some non-life threatening, but nuisance
nonetheless, health problems. Little is missing some teeth, probably due to a poor diet, but she
recently had her teeth cleaned and she is Little has developed a cataract on her right eye, which my
wonderful vet, Dr. Nathan Orr, will check Saturday July 15. I do not know what that means in terms of her
future. If it can be corrected, I will have it corrected, but it may mean that she will be sight impaired in that
eye. Both eat well, but Little needs soft food.
eye. Both eat well, but Little needs soft food.
Because they are so small (10 lbs. each) I keep them separated from the big dogs while I am at work,
putting them in a nice large bathroom, but they are equally as comfortable crated. I simply open the door
in the morning and call them and they go in, straight to their bed and curl up together. Both are excited,
jumping, barking and thrilled every evening when I come home. Little likes to sleep at my feet and Wee
likes to sleep with her head on the pillow beside my head, however, if I am having a bad night and not
resting well, I simply put them on their bed on the floor beside me and they stay there the night.

Little likes nothing more than to be loved. She is the
quietest, saddest little dog and her face is so sweet,
she almost looks like a toy dog (see below left). She
does not have that annoying hyperactive nature of most
miniature poodles or the tick ticking of her nails on the
floor when she walks. She is just a gentle, laid back,
sweet natured dog. Both play fine in the backyard with
the big dogs WHEN I AM SUPERVISING and are equally
comfortable alone, together inside.
As you can see, her best buddy is 8 times her size, and here, Booda
is tghreeBooda going on. As you can see, her best buddy is 8 times
her size, Booda is 80 pounds of solid muscle.
Although they are not water dogs, both are very easy to bathe, and
LOVE to be groomed and pampered.
Both dogs are spayed, UTD on shots, heartworm negative and on
preventive along with flea preventive. They are great around small
children, even the smallest little ones are safe with them and would
make equally good companions for an older person.
These little ladies really need a forever home where they will be queens forever. They need to get out of my
small rescue where they will be the little princesses they were meant to be and the princesses they were
before Katrina left them homeless. Here they are overwhelmed by large dogs and don't get nearly the
attention and affection they so crave. I am willing to transport these dogs or arrange transport, almost any
distance to get them into a safe, loving environment where they will never again be separated from the people
they love.
SERA LEE Adopted
Sera is a 6 month old chihuahua/terrier mix with the
sweetest most loving personality. She is about 15 lbs and
will probably grow to 25 tops. She loves nothing more than
cuddling. She prefers cuddling to eating, playing probably
to anything other than walking - she loves her walks, her
chance to sniff anything new, to see new things and revisit
the old. She will be your loving shadow without being
velcro. The smile you see on this little girl's face defines
her loving nature. Sera is great with kids and is being
fostered by a family with a larger dog, a handicapped cat,
two "normal" cats and two children. Sera is housetrained
but must be kept on her schedule. She is still young and
out again after feeding. If you do not have a fenced yard,
we can talk about how to best exercise
Sera, but you must bear in mind that ALL dog next door
dogs must never ever be allowed off leash
Sera is just waiting to be your new best friend
ever. Click on any picture to enlarge.
JADA is an adorable chihuahua/pug/
funny, delightful and gets along with
that she'd make a great first dog.
She is two years old, leash and
house trained, as with all Dog Next
Door dogs, she has been fully vetted
and just needs someone to return all
the love that this little dog so willingly
about 20 lbs, but does fine with the
bigger dogs here - truly holds her
own and has the most loving
disposition.

information on Jada
her foster mom Kim. They'd love to keep her
To the left, Sera is on the sofa, curled up with
but have Neche (whom they adopted from
me two year ago) a handicapped cat and two
other cats (one a kitten they are trying to
rehome) PLUS two childen so Sera really
needs her own family.
Just look at those adoring, adorable eyes!!!
and that is exactly who Sera is, adoring and
adorable.
