OUR STORY

Dogs, let alone all animals, have always played an important part in my life.  In 2016, after having to put down my two rescue dogs, Hogan (18) and Magic (14), I got a call from our groomer who announced, “I think I have your next dog!”

“No, you don’t because I’m done.  My heart is so broken I can’t go through this ever again.”

“Why don’t you just come meet him?” she said.

I drove the mile to her shop where I sat on the ground with puppies.  One little ball of white fluff literally leapt onto my shoulder and began licking my ear.  Baci picked me.

“Why don’t you take him home for a few days?” she suggested. The rest is history.  Baci and I have not been apart since.

 

After moving from New Mexico to New York, I bought a home perfect for dogs. We moved in and  The Dog Nextdoor was born. The backyard has a one acre fenced in area where the dogs play all four seasons. The garage became “The Puppy Playroom” filled with beds, toys and open crates for those pups who need a break from the others.  I even find Baci just lying in a cave-like crate to have moments of solitude. All dogs are fed separately and treated as the unique souls they are.

We have grown purely on word of mouth and referrals.  Baci is the Doggie Ambassador.  He welcomes everyone and has no jealous bone in his body.  He shares his toys, space and me, freely.
